The ball clasp: a timeless mechanism
The ball clasp (or kiss lock) is a mechanical fastening system invented in the 19th century. Two metal balls, mounted on a rigid brass arch, snap together under tension when brought close. A press of the thumb on both balls is enough to release the arch — the pencil case opens wide, offering a full view of the contents.
This mechanism has never needed improvement because it never has: no wear parts, no springs to replace, no fraying fabric. On the SCRIPT, the arch is made of antique bronze-finished brass, patinated to match the dark brown leather. A mechanism that will outlast decades of daily use.

At the bottom, the main compartment: a generous volume measuring 180 mm long that holds pencils, pens, felt-tip pens, and brushes loosely, with enough depth not to compress them. At the top, the organizer panel: a fabric band lined with elastic straps that hold an eraser, correction pen, pencil sharpener, short ruler, or USB flash drive vertically — everything that gets lost at the bottom of a standard pencil case. The soft leather of the outer casing gives the SCRIPT a gentle hold on the desk: it does not slide, does not scratch the surface, and its slightly rounded base gives it natural stability. Each contrast stitch reinforces the corners without weighing down the lines.

Ingenious double storage — The SCRIPT does not settle for a single compartment. The top panel (under the lid) is equipped with elastic straps that hold small accessories vertically — eraser, correction pen, pencil sharpener, USB flash drive, short ruler. The bottom compartment holds writing instruments lengthwise. This separation prevents small objects from getting lost at the bottom of the pencil case.
Care tip — The SCRIPT leather is easy to care for. Wiping with a dry or slightly damp cloth is enough for daily use. If a stain persists, use a mild leather soap applied with a cloth, then let it air dry. Avoid overloading the pencil case beyond its capacity to preserve the shape of the leather and the proper functioning of the clasp. The brass of the clasp naturally develops a golden patina over time — do not polish it, that is what gives it its character.
