Gold & grayHandmade3 models · 20 sizes
Fraying gray mists, reliefs reminiscent of weathered stone, and everywhere golden highlights that glow like distant lights: Golden Abstraction marries the softness of pearl gray with the warmth of gold. This series is composed of three models. The first evokes a city in the fog, with golden reflections vibrating above a dark band; the second scatters textured gold patches across a white and gray background, like an ancient, weathered wall; the third divides the canvas in two with a golden horizon line, between a pale sky and a raised ground. Every stroke and touch is applied by hand by our artist, using oil paint, so that no two canvases are alike. Twenty sizes are offered, from the modest 40 x 60 cm to the panoramic 130 x 250 cm, with other measurements open for consideration; the artwork is shipped unframed. Perfect for a living room, bedroom, or even a hotel, it brings a warm and elegant ambiance that is sure to catch the eyes of your guests.
Three models
Model A
A – City in the mist
Gray mist at the top, anthracite band and vertical golden reflections at the bottom.
Model B
B – Golden patina
White and gray background, scattered textured gold patches.
Model C
C – Golden horizon
Pale sky, horizontal gold line, gray relief ground.
A, B, or C: for the same size, the price is the same, so the choice comes down entirely to visual preference. Models A and C structure the space with a clear composition; Model B, more diffuse, functions like a precious wall texture.
The palette
Gray and gold, a duo of light
Gray is often considered a discreet color, but here it does all the heavy lifting: ranging from pearl white to anthracite, it creates depth, mists, and reliefs. Applied in overlapping layers, more or less diluted, it gives the canvas a vaporous atmosphere, while thicker areas form genuine raised textures, particularly visible on the lower part of Model C.
Gold acts as a counterpoint. It is applied in small vertical touches on Model A, in irregular patches on Model B, and in a continuous band on Model C. In each case, it warms the gray palette and captures ambient light, so that the canvas seems to glow from within when a lamp is turned on.

The spirit of luxury palaces
Golden Abstraction has the hushed elegance of hotel lobbies and refined suites: a soothing palette, enhanced by a touch of luxury. It is suitable for interiors that feature noble materials—marble, leather, velvet, gold metal—and neutral tones.
Our photos show it above a large tufted black leather sofa in a contemporary living room with dark furniture, next to a braided leather ottoman, or in a bright entryway where it echoes a golden bust placed on a pedestal. Its gold or black frames emphasize, depending on the choice, the richness or the graphic nature of the artwork.
From selection to hanging
1
Choose the model: A for an urban, nocturnal vibe, B for a precious texture, C for a calm, horizontal composition.
2
Decide between elongated and classic: 1:2 ratios (60x120, 70x140) stretch the wall, while 70x100 or 100x160 cm proportions ground it.
3
Visit the framer, as the canvas arrives unframed: a gold frame to extend the gold, a black one to sharpen the lines.
4
Hang it above a sofa or bed, about 20 to 25 cm above the backrest or headboard.

Handmade mists, made-to-order: The studio paints your Golden Abstraction starting the day it is ordered. The placement of gold touches, the shape of the mists, and the height of the reliefs will differ slightly from our visuals. This production method explains a later delivery time than for an already packaged product.
Lighting tip: To reveal the gold, place warm lighting directed toward the canvas, such as a wall sconce, spotlight, or floor lamp. In the evening, the golden touches literally light up and create a high-end mansion atmosphere.

Good to know: The gold or black frames shown in our decor images are not included, nor are the wooden frames. Gold and reliefs are sensitive to friction: remove the canvas from the carton by holding it by its margins and always lay it down with the painted side facing up.
A refined gift
For a housewarming, a wedding anniversary, or the inauguration of a hotel, restaurant, or office, Golden Abstraction is a gift that combines sobriety and prestige. Its neutral palette adapts to almost any interior.
A vase with metallic reflections from our vases, a warm-light lamp chosen from our lighting, and the luxury palace spirit is complete; other canvases can be discovered in Wall Decor.
Frequently asked questions
Which model should I choose from the three?
Model A evokes a city in the mist: its lower part, dark and punctuated with vertical golden reflections, provides an urban, nocturnal vibe, ideal for a contemporary living room. Model B is the most diffuse: textured gold patches are scattered on a white and gray background, like a weathered wall; it acts as a precious texture in an entryway or bedroom. Model C is the most structured: a horizontal gold line separates a pale sky from a gray relief ground, a soothing composition for an office or dining room.
Is the gold visible in a dimly lit room?
The golden touches react to light: the brighter the room, the more they shine. In a low-light room, they remain visible due to the contrast with the gray, but their brilliance will be more subtle. To take full advantage of them, plan a source of warm light directed toward the canvas: a wall sconce above, an adjustable spotlight, or a floor lamp placed nearby. In the evening, this lighting literally makes the gold glow. Model B, with its large gold patches, is the one that captures light best, even in a dim setting.
Are the panoramic formats suitable for all three models?
Yes, each model can be ordered in all twenty sizes, including the most elongated ones: 60x120, 70x140, 80x160 or 80x180, and the very large 120x240 and 130x250 cm. These elongated proportions are particularly successful above a large sofa, a king-size bed, or a long sideboard. Model C, with its horizon line, naturally lends itself to a horizontal panoramic display. If you are hesitant about the orientation for an elongated format, let us know when ordering: since everything starts from a blank canvas, the artist will orient the composition accordingly.
Can I install it in a hotel or professional space?
Absolutely, that is where it truly shines. Its neutral and refined palette is suitable for hotel lobbies, guesthouses, medical waiting rooms, restaurants, or executive offices. For a project involving several rooms or walls, the three models complement each other harmoniously and allow for variety without breaking the visual coherence. Do not hesitate to contact us for an order of multiple canvases or for custom dimensions tailored to your spaces: since each piece is painted by hand, allow for sufficient lead time.
Is the canvas delivered with its gold frame?
No: the gold frame in our photos serves the decor; it does not travel with the canvas, which arrives without any structure. A framer will first need to mount it on a wooden frame. To highlight the gold in the painting, a thin gold or brushed brass frame is the most natural choice. A matte black frame will provide a more graphic and contemporary look, especially with Model C. You can also choose to leave the canvas edges bare, for a very sleek, gallery-style look.
How do I choose the size above a bed?
Above a headboard, we aim for a canvas significantly narrower than the bed, around 60 to 70% of its width. For a 140 cm bed, aim for a canvas about 90 to 100 cm wide; for a 160 or 180 cm bed, a format of 100 to 120 cm is more appropriate. Horizontally elongated formats, like 60x120 or 70x140 cm, are particularly successful in a bedroom as they follow the lines of the bed. Leave about 20 cm between the top of the headboard and the bottom of the canvas for a harmonious visual balance.
Does Golden Abstraction exist in custom dimensions?
It is possible for each of the three models as a special dimension. This is a practical solution for an atypical wall, a niche, a space between two windows, or a professional project with specific constraints. Contact us before ordering by indicating the model chosen and the desired dimensions. As the artist starts from a blank canvas for every purchase, they will reorganize the mists and gold touches according to your proportions; you only need to allow time for the oil to harden before shipping. If possible, attach a photo of the wall: it helps in balancing the composition.
