Hand-paintedOil on canvas11 square formats
Blanc Évocateur is a modern oil painting that focuses on suggestion rather than demonstration. On the canvas, only the lower part of a female face takes shape: full lips, a chin, the outline of a neck, with the rest lost in white and gray material worked in relief. This approach allows the imagination to complete the portrait, giving the work a presence that is both sensual and calm. The camaieu of whites, pearl grays, and silver highlights brings simplicity and elegance to the piece while drawing the eye. The work is hand-painted and produced to order: each canvas is therefore unique. It is available in eleven square formats, from 50 x 50 cm to 130 x 130 cm, and a custom dimension is possible upon request. Above a sofa, facing a bed, or in an office, Blanc Évocateur becomes the focal point of a contemporary, soft, and luminous decor.
The technique
Oil on canvas, a living material
Oil paint has been used since the Renaissance for its richness: the pigments, bound by a drying oil, dry slowly, which allows for blending, layering, and creating relief. It offers deep, nuanced whites that change with the daylight.
On Blanc Évocateur, the material is applied in textured layers: some areas remain smooth, while others present relief and silver highlights that catch the light. Hand-painted, each canvas features slight variations, a testament to its unique character.

The art of suggestion
Blanc Évocateur plays with the unspoken. By showing only the lower part of the face, the work focuses attention on the lips—a symbol of speech, smiles, and sensuality—and leaves the viewer to imagine the eyes.
The choice of an almost monochrome palette reinforces this sense of mystery. The face seems to emerge from the material, as if sculpted in plaster or marble, and blends into a background worked in relief.
In an interior with neutral tones, the canvas brings relief and depth without breaking the harmony.

Frequently asked questions
Is the painting really hand-made?
Yes. Blanc Évocateur is a hand-painted oil painting, not a print or a photographic reproduction. Each canvas is painted to order, making it a unique work: the textures, shades of white, and silver highlights will vary slightly from one piece to another. This is the charm of an original painting. The canvas you receive will be very close to our photos without being an identical copy, bearing the traces of the artist's touch.
What formats are available?
Blanc Évocateur is available in eleven square formats: 50x50, 60x60, 70x70, 75x75, 80x80, 85x85, 90x90, 100x100, 110x110, 120x120, and 130x130 cm. The small formats are suitable for an entryway, an office, or a wall composition; the large formats, known as XXL, truly shine above a sofa, bed, or console. If no format matches your wall, a custom dimension is possible: contact us to discuss.
Is the frame included?
No. The canvas is delivered without frame and without stretcher bar. Some situational photos show framing, which is not included. Upon receipt, you can have the canvas stretched on a wooden frame, which allows for hanging it directly on the wall in a refined style, or entrust it to a framer to add a molding matching your interior. This solution gives you the freedom to choose the finish you like and also facilitates the transport of the work.
Can a custom dimension be ordered?
Yes, a custom dimension is possible. This is ideal if you have a specific wall to dress, a space between two windows, a headboard, or a location with unusual proportions. Contact our team, specifying the desired width and height: we will inform you of the feasibility and the corresponding price. Like all our canvases, the custom version is hand-painted to order. Remember to measure the available space precisely and leave a margin around the artwork.
What is the production time?
Each canvas is painted to order once your order is placed. This manufacturing method guarantees a unique work, but it implies a longer shipping time than for an item available in stock, to allow time for painting and proper drying. If you are gifting this painting for a specific date, such as an anniversary, wedding, or housewarming, we advise ordering well in advance. Our team can provide information on current lead times before you place your order.
In which room should I hang Blanc Évocateur?
Thanks to its palette of whites and grays, Blanc Évocateur suits most interiors: contemporary living room, calming bedroom, elegant office, or bright entryway. Its subject, a sketched female face, brings a touch of softness and sensuality without ever being ostentatious. It pairs particularly well with neutral tones, light wood, linen, velvet, or brushed metals. In a dark room, it brings light; in a bright room, it creates subtle relief.
How to maintain an oil painting?
An oil painting requires little maintenance. Dust it occasionally with a soft brush or a duster, without rubbing. Never use water or household products on the canvas. Hang it away from direct sunlight, which could alter the shades, and away from heat and humidity sources like radiators or bathrooms. When handling, hold it by the edges without touching the painted surface, especially during the first few weeks while the oil finishes drying.
