The CasePods Third is a leather case designed for the 3rd generation AirPods charging case. It follows the rounded and slightly wider silhouette of the case, wrapping it in two parts: a base shell that holds the case and a lid that follows its opening. The exterior is covered in leather with a smooth, glossy, and subtly nuanced finish, while the internal ABS structure keeps the entire piece neatly shaped and snug. A small front opening reveals the charging indicator light, and the bottom of the case is cut out to provide access to the connector. Most importantly, it is designed to not interfere with wireless charging: simply place the covered case on its charger. Two shades are available: a warm caramel brown and a deep black. The materials
Leather surface, ABS structure
The surface of the case is made of leather. In photos, it features a lustrous finish and subtle tonal variations, which are more pronounced on the brown version: this is what gives it its character, akin to a small leather goods item. Leather provides a softer and more secure grip than a smooth plastic case, which tends to slip from the fingers.
Inside, an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) structure gives the case its shape. This rigid and lightweight technical plastic is widely used for shells and cases. It allows the lid and base to retain their shape over time, without warping as a soft case would.
