Best practices

  • Outer leather — use a soft, slightly damp cloth for marks. Use leather conditioning balm twice a year to maintain suppleness and develop the patina
  • Humidifier — refill with distilled water only. Never use tap water — the limescale will clog the tube and leave deposits
  • Cedar interior — air out the case regularly. Wipe with a dry cloth if tobacco residue accumulates on the walls
  • Storage — store away from direct light and excessive heat. The leather patina develops at its own pace — it is a sign of a living material

The cowhide patina: unlike PU leather that degrades, genuine cowhide leather gets better with time. Signs of use, variations in shade, and slight scratches form a unique patina — no two ZIPY cases look the same after a few months of use. It is the opposite of a flaw.

Is the ZIPY case compatible with Churchills (178 mm)?
No — the ZIPY case accommodates cigars up to 150 mm maximum. The standard Churchill measures 178 mm and will not fit in the case. For long formats (Churchills, Doble Coronas, Gran Coronas), check out our travel humidors which accept cigars up to 18-20 cm.
How do I refill the ZIPY humidifier?
