Genuine Spanish Cedar: What makes the difference

The three properties of Spanish cedar are complementary and irreplaceable. Its hygroscopic cellular structure absorbs excess moisture when the level rises and releases it when the air is too dry — acting as a natural buffer in addition to the humidifier. This passive regulation reduces sudden variations that can damage cigar wrappers.

Its aromatic terpenes gradually diffuse into the cigars stored in contact with the wood, enriching their flavor profile as they age. Finally, its characteristic scent naturally repels the tobacco beetle, the main insect harmful to collections. The Horizon's cedar interlocking seal enhances airtightness without a plastic gasket that could degrade over time.

🗄️ The integrated drawer — clever storage under the base

The Horizon's lower drawer is designed to store flat cigar cutters, slim lighters, punches, or Boveda humidification packs. Maximum accessory height: 1.7 cm — check the height of your accessories before purchase. Accessories are not included.

Compatible sizes & brands

15 to 30 cigars depending on size: Cohiba Partagas Romeo y Julieta Montecristo Robusto · Toro · Churchill

Capacity varies by ring gauge: 30 cigars in Corona format (cepo 42), approximately 15 to 20 in Churchill or Gordo format (cepo 60). Count your usual collection to choose between the Horizon and a larger humidor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual capacity of the Horizon humidor?
Between 15 and 30 cigars depending on size. For Corona (cepo 42), you can fit up to 30 cigars. For Churchill or Gordo (cepo 60), count more like 15 to 20. The capacity directly depends on the ring gauge and length of your cigars.
Which finish to choose — Onyx or Natural?
The Onyx Horizon (textured black wood) blends into modern and contemporary interiors. The Natural Horizon (light wood grain) brings a warm and natural, more classic touch. Both offer exactly the same storage functionalities.
Can the drawer accommodate all types of accessories?
The maximum height of the drawer is 1.7 cm — sufficient for flat cigar cutters, Boveda packs, or a punch. Large lighters or thick cigar cutters may not fit. Measure your accessories before purchase if you intend to store them in the drawer.
Is the interior real Spanish cedar?
Yes — the interior is fully lined with natural Spanish cedar wood, including the interlocking seal that ensures airtight closure without a plastic gasket. Cedar naturally regulates humidity and gradually enriches the aromas of your cigars.
How to refill the gel humidifier?
Remove the humidifier and add a few drops of distilled water only — tap water calcifies and contaminates the gel over time. Refill as soon as the hygrometer drops below 65%. The gel reactivates within a few hours after adding water.
Can Boveda packs be used in the Horizon?
Yes — the Horizon is compatible with Boveda 69% or 72% packs and all traditional humidifiers. For long-term storage or if you smoke infrequently, Boveda packs are an excellent alternative to the gel humidifier — more precise and no manipulation required. They can also be stored in the lower drawer.
Is the Horizon humidor a good gift for a cigar enthusiast?
Yes — glass window, Spanish cedar, digital hygrometer, and accessory drawer make it a complete and immediately usable gift. Its compact size (23 × 18 × 11 cm) fits on a desk or living room furniture without cluttering. Paired with a lighter and cigar cutter, it makes a memorable cigar gift.
